I installed the plugin, but it doesn't appear to be showing up on my site. I am in the midst of updating my blog, and so the "under contstruction feature is on". If you plan to take a look at the site, can you email me and let me know so I can disable that and let you take a look?

I believe I've already responded to you once in regards to this matter... but at any rate, if you would simply update the damn plugin you wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. I've removed any and all API requests from the plugin. So that means no more update reminders, no more plugin stats, etc etc etc...

Be happy. Direct your irritation to the countless other plugin developers who place alerts outside the plugin options page now.

And please, pretty please. Stop placing the update notes all over Wordpress' Admin area.
It's a plugin, for crying out loud. Not the core operating system. It annoys the heck out of users!

Yes, 2.5.3 is the last version in which we were using the more "old school" methods of retrieving data... Hopefully we'll have the bugs fixed the next go around, but if not, we'll probably wind up reverting back to using those older methods just for stability's sake.

After testing more than 5 versions of SexyBookmarks on http://touchreviews.net I've found Version 2.5.3 working on my site. The other versions would either break the sidebars, footer or in some case cause conflict with Disqus plugin.

But I am happy to have SexyBookmarks plugin finally working even though it is version 2.5.3 :)

I just installed version 2.6.0.1 today. but i have some problem, when i go to setting, i just got a blank page. how to fix that ?

Sorry but I dont really know what shared hosting is, I have the economy hosting plan for wordpress blogs from godaddy.

Are you using shared hosting? If so, they may have your domain throttled back a bit... You may ask your hosting provider what kind of timeout limits they've got set in the PHP.INI settings.

Yeah I saw it, but there is no fix, the one with the http.php file didnt fix my problem. I want my sexybookmarks back ! My blog looks sad without them :(:(:(

Omg, I really love this plugin and the updates were great , pity there were bugs.
Anyway I have a BIG PROBLEM ....I had sexy bookmarks , downloaded it on 13 november so Im not sure which version was, 2.6.0.1 I think.
I didnt updated after I installed it. And tonight all of the sudden , when I was trying to open my dashboard I got this message : An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request. I modified that http.php file in line 238 abt the timeout thing from 5 to 30 and it didnt fix my problem.
But I read on internet that other users fixed the problem by deleting the Sexy Bookmarks updates, so I tried that too and it fixed my problem.
But I want my sexy plugin back pleaseeeee !! What is wrong with it ? Will it be fixed ?

It doesn't look to be a problem with the plugin... It actually looks as though your site is loading a script which is throwing an error, thus preventing the rest of the scripts after it to be loaded properly.

Also, it looks as though your theme already loads jQuery be default, so you won't need to check the "jQuery compatibility fix" option in SexyBookmarks.

I've just installed the latest version on two sites. Looks good, but only the top line shows up. It won't expand to show the others.

Josh, I had to select that box to keep my carousel on the home page from going wacko. When I select that box, it clears up the carousel issue. Any way to work around that issue? Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about adding categories to a gallery? SexyBookmarks does not have any galleries, nor does it have categories.

This is because you have the "auto-expand" feature selected, but jQuery is not being loaded in your theme... Do you have the checkbox selected that says "Check this box ONLY if you notice jQuery being loaded twice" ?

If so, please deselect that box and the problem should go away.

Also...how do you add categories to the gallery? I would like add several. On the bottom of the skin, it says "All Categories" leading me to believe there is way to have more, but I don't see an option for that in the settings. Thanks.

just installed SB ver. 2.6.0.1 and love it. One minor glitch I can see so far is the bookmarks are not all showing up on my posts (is not showing last 4 on every post) but they are showing all up (11)on my pages. Any idea how to fix that? Thanks.

Well i've managed out to correct that error, adding informations about Language, Project and something else, into Properties tab of .po file.

SexyBookmarks is just what i was looking for. Version 2.6.0.1 installed and everything was fine! But I've noticed that italian translation is far away from being complete. I've managed out to fulfill white spaces and incorrect entries, but i still receive this error, while trying to compile .po to .mo:

sexybookmarks-it_IT.po:6: some header fields still have the initial value.

Suggestions to manage out this error and finally gather a correct translation (to share) are appreciated!

Was using your bookmark plugin however I recognized that any posts I made after activating your plugin ended up showing in the uncategorized category in the pageOfPosts page . In spite of everything else being fine on single post pages. Quiet weird. I liked your plugin a lot. Too bad I had to deactivate it.

I took a look at the "pages" you're referring to, but seeing as how they are pulling categories and grabbing multiple posts... they're more like indexes themselves. I'm guessing that this is becoming more and more popular as I've seen it quite a bit lately. I will look into adding a functionality so that the plugin can also be activated on category indexes.

Having selected to have Sexybookmarks appear on Posts, Pages & Index, it doesn't appear on certain of my pages?

I'm not a proper programmer, but I can usually find and fix most things after a while. I was hoping you may be curious enough to have a look, 'cause I'm stumped?

They appear fine on this Index - http://edits.nosh-it-wood-fired-pizza.com.au/ , and on individual posts.

But they don't appear on these pages - http://edits.nosh-it-wood-fired-pizza.com.au/nosh-it-pizza-blog/ & http://edits.nosh-it-wood-fired-pizza.com.au/nosh-it-edits-blog/ , where posts are collected and listed on a page as if it was an Index. I think it might have something to do with calling the posts via a Category Query, but can't be more specific.

Oh and the blog is a Hosted Wordpress using Thematics Theme & FeatureSite Child Theme.

i rolled back to 2.6.0 as i have the php4 issue. it is super stable for me. i am on a 1and1 linux hosting package. good luck with the 2.6.0.x

I just tested your site, and it seems that I can leave a comment just fine when you have the SexyBookmarks plugin activated...

What i've found is that most people who use that theme are actually wanting the menu to be displayed beneath each post on the homepage of the site... If this is the case, you'll need to select one of the options that says "Index" in the plugin options page (near the bottom).

I tried to send a bug report form but it would let me for some reason anyway here is my problem:

My bookmarks are showing up when I preview my blog post but disappear when I publish it. I tried deactivated all my other plugin's and the only one that made a difference was the simple twitter link plugin that was preinstalled. When I deactivate this my bookmarks appear but I am unable to leave comments??

Any ideas why this would be??

BTW... You imply that my plugin is the only one which moves "outside" it's own little predefined area... So have you not ever used WP-SuperCache, All In One SEO, Maintenance Mode, or countless others who place alerts/warnings outside the plugin options page?

The much I love SB, the much I hate that you go beyond the plugin area with your update notifications. It's a plugin for crying out loud.
Please don't interfere with other parts of the site like the dashboard. If every plugin developer would do that we would have a total chaos on our hands. So please, pretty please - leave the rest of the site alone?

This means that your server is set up on PHP4... We've got a fix for this issue in v2.6.0, but since there were quite a few bugs with that version, we had to roll it back to the previous one. This means that the fix for this is still not released as stable yet.

Try disabling the Twitter module and then saving your changes in the plugin options page if you can.

Hmm... Well if you're receiving an error about file_get_contents() being disabled, then I'm wondering why it's not using cURL instead... or even if cURL isn't enabled on your server, then the function is supposed to simply pull the actual permalink as a last resort, rather than trying to shorten it.

There were two releases in the past 24 hours... Did you update to version v2.6.0 or v2.6.0.1? If you updated to v2.6.0, that's the version we were having so many problems with... So please try updating to the latter instead.

Yes, it has something to do with the square brackets... I noticed this problem long ago in a much earlier version of the plugin and what you're experiencing is the "temporary fix" I implemented until I could find the underlying cause of the problem with those brackets used for the short codes.

First of all incredible plugin. I searched here and couldn't find anything on this issue. I have NextGen Gallery (NGG) installed, which among others, uses a shortcode [singlepic ...] If I start a post with that shortcode, and choose to email a link to the post, the quoted text of the post is missing the first character. If I remove the NGG shortcode, or put it somewhere other than at the beginning of the post, the problem goes away. Thoughts?

Yea, sorry about that man... I know you're anxious to get your site added, but there were some serious flaws with that version that were apparently wreaking havoc on people's sites... In some cases, even taking off the sidebars and footers completely! (which is odd, cuz sexybookmarks shouldn't even touch the sidebars, but oh well)
