Hi, great update. This plugin is awesome. I have a question, design wise, those new buttons do not look integrated next to the Sexybookmarks. Is it possible to call these bottons somewhere else rather than just above or below sexybookmarks?

For example, let’s say next to a post title?

The Google +1 isn’t showing in Internet Explorer. Other browsers are o.k., but in the Explorer the button is only available in the socurce code.

Any solution for that?

I agree with several of the comments here:
1) I see Google +1 on Firefox but not on my IE
2) I’d prefer these +1, Like, and Send at the top of entries

One separate issue, I don’t see the Like and Send options at all. Perhaps I have to dig deeper into the settings?

I’m seriously thinking about switching to this plugin, but this is the one thing that’s making me hesitant. I would love it to be better integrated instead of looking like an afterthought.

Yes, I know there are plug-ins just for the Google Plus 1 that will allow you to place the button at the top of the post. With the 4 options provided in the settings (without having to insert special code) it just looks off to me. If you look at my site there is so much negative space between the bookmarks and the google button? http://www.livelovepasta.com/

Ideally I would love to be able to place it at the top of the post, but I dont want to insert code every post, or even just to the left of the bookmarks so there is not so much space that makes it look weird. Thanks

I think there is something wrong with some themes. My wordpress theme for example doesn’t show Google +1 on neither IE nor in Firefox. It only shows +1 in Google Chrome. Facebook Like button however works fine in all browsers.

I’m having problems with the FB “like” and “send” buttons not showing up anymore since I upgraded this afternoon. The Google +1 button shows up though. I ended up checking “no” to them all – and just did the sharing buttons – and then tried inserting the code to put the fb like and the google +1 buttons above the post. Again – only the google button showed up.

I am having an interesting problem. First of all I cant get seem to get any of the buttons discussed here to work. (seems to be a similar issue that everyone else is having) I am using an Artisteer theme.

That aside, I am having another weird issue that I hope someone can look at. If you go to the website’s home page the shareaholic bar shows up on my posts. And if you go to the next page, from the home page, they show up. But if you choose any of the categories the shareaholic bar does not show up, and going to the next pages from a category it doesnt show up (categories sort my posts).

I totally love this PlugIn and the update looks really really good, exactly what I was looking for. Finally I will be able to have only one plugIn for all the sharing buttons. However, I am having similar problems and it looks like the new buttons (facebook and G+) are not showing with my theme (me’gusta theme from http://bizzthemes.com/themes/megusta/)

Hi! I love your plugin – especially the new features in the latest update. FYI – I discovered that with Internet Explorer 7, enabling the Facebook, Twitter, or Google+1 buttons makes the text on a page disappear when in the viewing window. Everything else seems to work great on the older browser.

Ditto this. “Likes” show up on FB with an automatic thumbnail but with no selection options. I’ve seen several “Likes” of my posts show up on FB with a Twitter icon as the thumb. Not good.

Hi, I’m new here and I just made a wordpress blog. I got the facebook like and send and google + icon to work however, I’d like to have it on top of the post as well beside the title. I did what you guys said, but the icons are not aligned and its showing likes and shares that arent real. Like my post which is 1 day old has 3 likes so far but when I added your code it was saying something like 400,000 likes.

Thanks for making this plugin and providing so many improvements. You guys rock.
Like and +1 buttons are a great addition. However, In the latest version you have actually REMOVED some layout options you had previously in version 4.0.4.1, to place the +1 and Like above or below the sexy bookmarks. I’d love it if you could put these back.
The buttons certainly looked better ABOVE the sexy buttons block at bottom of my site:

I completely Agree with Lachlan. The FB and +1 that were just above my share buttons now sit right up against the bottom of them and it looks kinda bad. I moved the FB and +1 up above the post instead to make it look a little cleaner, but I think they really belong down were they were before the latest update > Right above the share buttons.

Absolutely, +1 and a lot more.

The loss of positioning the FB/other buttons above the SexyBookmarks row is bad. They really look ugly underneath and I spent quicte a while scratching my head wondering what ‘I’ had done to lose them.

Why damage an already great plugin like this? Strange. Must be a geek thing. I am not interested in custom programming when no need. Got enough of that already to do. :)

I have yet to be able to turn on the New version without it churning in the background and forcing me to figure out which combination of buttons will actually work. The old version is more than acceptable. Stick with what you do best.

The latest sexybookmarks build on on the latest wp build (July 12 2011) does not yet show the FB box or The +1 button on pages or posts using (Ubuntu Linix) Mozilla build 5.0) – works with Opera and epiphany browsers though.

Planning to use this addin on a new site we’re developing. I’m happy with the plus one and facebook items at the bottom of the page, but want them on the same line as the rest of the icons. Hey man! I love this plugin and I’m a huge fan of the new options. I’m having a problem though. The Like button doesn’t seem to work. I click on it and for a brief second it has a checkmark, says “Liked” and has a “1″ next to it. But in that same second, it becomes unliked again. Very odd. Any thoughts (other than that I must be clicking twice in a row on accident)?

I’ve also noticed that if I disable the “New mode” the “Plugin health status” reports a red dot about “Optimized loading time” and suggests “To Fix: Simply re-save your SB settings” but nothing changes.

Hi, is there any way to reduce the space to the right of the Facebook button? Even once someone has “liked” a post and the counter shows up, there’s still quite a gap between the facebook button and it’s neighbor.

Also… I see it’s possible to show/hide the count on the Google +1 button with shr_count. Is there a way to do that with the Facebook button too?

I run your plugin in manual mode and since version 4.0.4.1 the Facebook Send and Google +1 buttons have disappeared. I have submitted a support ticket on this and I saw that someone else had the same problem, but no answer from the support team.

I’ve upgraded to the latest build of SexyBookmarks, turned on the +1 buttons (and clicked YES for new features). I am including the buttons in manual mode using the HMTL code from your installation pages. The buttons appear, but the numbers are crazy, eg:

This happened to me too. The URL is set to Yahoo. Substitute your site URL for Yahoo.

I have the same problem as a couple of the above users. I have the setting ” menu placement: in pages” and have manually inserted the code in single.php to get a custom placement of the buttons on the post page.

I too cannot seem to get this to work well for me. I tried problem solving (emptying cache, rebooting, deactivating all other plugins… and reading up and looking for problem areas in my theme) and all this to no avail. You dont have to include faces if you dont want to, it can be a simple small like button. Your theme may make it a little difficult to do it as a widget or something, but Im sure you could work something out towards the top, maybe just to the left of your ‘search’ function.

I like the integration of the Facebook and Google +1 buttons but would also like to include a Facebook Share button.

I’m using WordPress with Thesis and I see that when I use other facebook share and like plugins, the icons disapear on Sexybookmarks. This may have something to do with the problems mentioned above.

So, and correct me if I’m wrong, it looks like I’ll need to add the Facebook Share button separately. And when I do, I’ll lose the other Facebook buttons meaning I’ll need to add them separate from SBM also correct?

Can I make one suggestion however, can we also get a Twitter “Retweet” button with the Like and +1 buttons so I can have all three together??

Great plugin – lately I am experiencing problems with the google +1 button on my site. It shows up, but clicking the button results in a red button with an !. If I click the red button I am shown this error page:

You know, I had SFC (simple facebook connect) activated but was not using it. An update today had me deactivate it, and all of the sudden my buttons are working!! I had to have something to do with SFC … weird.

Ok I do have another issue Im hoping to get help with. I may have to post this elsewhere.

Check out my site, when you land on the home page everything shareaholic works fine, when you go to page 2 or 3 it still works. But when you choose a category, which is simply a sort mechanism, everything shareaholic goes away.

All working fine for me, but the background on my site is the same colour as the Facebook Like button text “Be the first of your friends to like this” – integration of the alternative colour options for Facebook buttons would be ideal here, or even the addition of background with a border to contain this element would be suitable also.

Hello – I just started using this plugin. I must say that I am rather impressed. I’ve switched over from another social bookmarking plugin that I’ve used for a long time. This one is awesome!

I am having 1 issue. On Chrome only, the FB like and send buttons won’t show. Also, the FB counter in the menu doesn’t work in Chrome. These all work in FireFox and IE9. I was suprised since you have a Chrome extension and have dug a bit into their code.

@Brian… I saw that all of your buttons and +1 was working just fine was this resolved for you? I noticed that when you select a category it is like in a blog page then you click that link and the icons appear!

Perhaps the settings are not correct? I would check there and if its not in the settings configuration I would contact these guys directly!

Firstly, many thanks for developing and sharing this great plugin.

We’re using a WooThemes theme on our site but have a couple of issues:

1. The “counters” next to the “Facebook” and “Google +1″ buttons aren’t visible due to the colour scheme of our site. Where can I configure the colours used?

2. When “liking” (via the Facebook button), the link is posted into a user’s Facebook profile, but using the WooThemes logo. I’m happy to have the WooThemes logo on our site, but don’t want it appearing in the Facebook streams of people “liking” us. How/where can I specify the image to be used?

I love Sexy Bookmarks and am so happy to have the +1 Button Integration. I have one problem, though – language! For some reason the text that appears when you hover the button is in English on my index page (fabulous) but it appears in other languages on post pages. ??   For me, when the WordPress admin bar was activated, the “Install”/”X” options didn’t appear on the nag banner for some reason. I deactivated the admin bar briefly and was finally able to click the X to get rid of it.

Hi there!
Ever since I installed Shareaholic’s SexyBooksmars, everytime i copy the URL of a post to facebook, the snippet of the post that are supposed to show doesn’t load correct. All it shows is:

Now I have even uninstalled the plugin, but it still won’t work. I have searched everywhere in my editor in wordpress for something like this, but it doesn’t show in any of my codes. Can you PLEASE help me as i CANNOT make this work and it is very frustrating!

Great plugin – I do however see some problems where the top-widget causes links on the home-page to overflow (i.e. outside of the actual anchor-tag). Hope this will be fixed soon.
