TechCrunch reported this morning that Chrome has overtaken Firefox as the #2 web browser in November. The author, Robin Walters, was a bit wary about StatCounter’s claims. This made me curious, so I dug into our own aggregated dataset of 250+ million users to verify the claim. Here is what I found:

These results really doesn't come by surprise as Google has done great work to make Chrome far the best internet browser and they are good at marketing their browser as well, so the combination makes them really stand out of the crowd.

It is matter of time when they take over IE position as well unless their next IE10 will surprise the world.

Mike, I do hope Firefox catches up and IE remains competitive as I do feel that competition in the browser space is important for innovation.
