Jay MeattleAnnouncing: Shareaholic Extension for Chrome (beta)

by Jay Meattle at 3pm, December 3rd, 2009 | 10 Comments »

We are super excited to announce the immediate availability of Shareaholic’s Extension for Google Chrome!

shareaholic-google-chrome

You can now share any page, anytime, from anywhere from Google Chrome using any of 80+ services including Twitter, Facebook, Google Gmail, Delicious, LinkedIn, FriendFeed, Bit.ly, etc. Use Shareaholic to make sharing online better, faster and easier — and dramatically enhance your productivity.

Important note: You will need the latest developer builds of Chrome 4.0+ to run Shareaholic. To use extensions on the Mac you have to be using the latest build of Chromium (the newest dev build of Chrome for Mac doesn’t support extensions properly yet). We expect the regular version of Chrome to support extensions soon. In the mean time, if you’d prefer you can also use our bookmarklet – which works on all browsers.

Download and install the Chrome 4.0 Dev Channel: Windows | Mac | Linux 32-bit | Linux 64-bit

As always, if you have any suggestions whatsoever for improving the extension, do let us know! Follow @Shareaholic for product updates, tips and more.

Jay MeattleShareaholic: Your Social Media Swiss Army Knife (an example from the trenches)

A quick example of how MarketingSavant uses Shareaholic for easy sharing in their daily work flow:

I use Shareaholic on a daily (OK, hourly…) basis to bookmark, share, post and send. Here’s a quick example.

1. I’m reading an article that I like and want to put into Delicious for reading later.

2. I right-click anywhere on the page and the shareaholic menu pops up.

3. I select Delicious from the custom menu of services that I use frequently.

4. The link is save in Delicious, but also sent to FriendFeed and Twitter simultaneously and then gathered into a blog post each evening.

5. A simple 2-second sharing exercise puts content in several places while sharing and adding value at the same time!

Read the entire newsletter.

How do you use Shareaholic? We’d love to learn from you and share!
