Filterset.G and Shareaholic: How to quickly fix the “email this page” link not working issue • Jun 2, 2008 • 2 min read

email this page - bzzsterThere have been some reports that the “email this page – bzzster” option in Shareaholic has not been working for some users. We diagnosed the issue to Adblock Plus running with Filterset.G

This is how one user fixed the problem:

One of the filters from the Filterset.G Updater extension seemed to be causing the problem.

1. I removed the Filterset.G Updater extension
2. Then removed all subscriptions in Adblock Plus
3. Then subscribed to the EasyList (USA) list via the “Add subscription” dialog in Adblock Plus
4. Then I restarted Firefox

NOW everything works.

Adblock also recommends not using Filterset.G with Adblock Plus. Appears to be a fairly common issue with Filterset.G. More here from Adblock:

The issues with Filterset.G have been discussed several times in the forums and now it is official — I recommend Adblock Plus users to uninstall Filterset.G Updater and use some other subscription instead. There are quite a few choices, my recommendation would be to choose one of either EasyList, Cédrics Liste, dutchblock or Filter von Dr.Evil (these are also the subscriptions that are currently suggested by the “Add subscription” dialog in Adblock Plus).
